If you’re a UAE resident planning a trip to Azerbaijan, getting a visa is a straightforward process. You can easily obtain a visa on arrival as long as you have a confirmed hotel booking, a valid return ticket, and your UAE residence visa is valid for at least six months.
For extra peace of mind, it’s recommended to have travel insurance as well. However, if your UAE visa doesn’t meet the validity requirement, you can apply for an Azerbaijan visa online through their official website.
The process is simple: you fill in your passport details, upload a passport photo (make sure it’s under 1 MB), and submit your application.
Depending on your needs, you can choose between a regular or urgent visa, and if everything is correct, you’ll receive your visa via email within just three hours.
In this article, I will share with you the complete process of applying for an Azerbaijan visa as a UAE resident, including the costs, requirements, and necessary documents.

Does a UAE resident need a visa to Azerbaijan?
Azerbaijan offers a visa on arrival, but this is only for UAE residents. If you have a UAE visa, you don’t need to worry about anything.
I went to Baku. Azerbaijan is a very cheap country, and if you want to enjoy it, it feels just like Turkey. If you plan to visit, Baku and Gabala are worth seeing.
Gabala is fantastic for nature lovers, and if you want a European vibe, Baku is the place to be. I loved Baku so much that I plan to go again. I have already been there once.

My Personal Experience of traveling to Azerbaijan as UAE Resident
Traveling from the UAE to Azerbaijan was quite an adventure for me, and I’d love to share my experience with you!
When I was preparing for my trip, I realized that my UAE visa was valid for only 160 days, which meant it was less than the required six months.

At the airport, the staff informed me that my visa wouldn’t qualify for the visa-on-arrival option. They advised me to apply for an urgent visa online, assuring me that by the time my flight landed—about three hours later—my visa would be waiting in my email inbox. Taking their advice, I applied for the urgent visa right away.
Once I arrived at the airport in Azerbaijan, the staff guided me not to head directly to the immigration counter. Instead, I needed to check my email first.
Fortunately, I was able to connect to the airport’s Wi-Fi. After a moment of anticipation, I found my visa had indeed arrived! I proceeded to the counter without any additional charges, aside from the extra $1 I paid for the urgent visa.
For residents of the UAE, nationals from Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh can enjoy the convenience of a visa-on-arrival option if everything is in order.

It’s such a fantastic deal at only about $30, allowing you easy access to this beautiful country. Once you arrive, the stunning views will leave you in awe. The weather was delightful, with cool breezes, and I even spotted snow on the mountains nearby.
I was particularly taken with the Shahdag Mountain Resort and Spa in the Shahdag area; it truly is a breathtaking experience.
As I prepare to explore more of Azerbaijan, I can’t help but highly recommend this destination. It’s a picturesque country with an abundance of activities, often likened to a mini Europe.
If you’re looking to experience Europe without breaking the bank, Azerbaijan is the place to be! So, pack your bags and get ready for an unforgettable journey!
